Degree Options

OVERVIEW

The M.Ed. in Educational Technology is a 36 hour program. Students must complete the 27 hour core courses plus 9 hours of electives. With faculty advisor approval, students can customize their Program of Study to meet their specific needs. We offer the following options:

M.Ed. Traditional.
This program of study allows students to select 9 credit hours of electives in a specific content area such as educational technology, reading, mathematics, or science.

M.Ed. + E-Learning Certificate.
This program of study allows students interested in teaching online in higher   education or at e-learning industries to earn an E-Learning Certificate.

M.Ed. + Technology Leadership in Education Certificate.
This program of study provides educators/trainers with the skills and knowledge needed to be effective leaders in technology.

M.Ed. + E-Learning + Technology Leadership Certificate.
This program of study allows you to earn the E-Learning and Technology Leadership in Education Certifications without having to take additional coursework beyond the 36 semester credit hours.

TECHNOLOGY LEADERSHIP IN EDUCATION (TLE) CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

The Technology Leadership in Education (TLE) Certificate is a 9-graduate credit program that is geared toward providing educators and trainers with the skills and knowledge needed to be effective leaders in technology. Principals, superintendents and technology leaders currently in roles as administrators as well as teachers who seek to take more of a leadership role in their district will benefit from this certificate.

E-LEARNING CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

The 12-hour graduate certificate program targets individuals interested in working as e-learning practitioners in K-12, higher education, corporate, or e-learning industries. Candidates will be able to serve as effective online educators by advancing knowledge and skills in electronic learning, both conceptual and practical; and meet changing job requirements in response to current trends in e-learning.

  • ELECTIVE with an emphasis on e-learning production skills

DEGREE PLANS

The Program of Study should be developed in consultation with the Faculty Advisor during the first semester of graduate work and must contain the following elements:

  • A brief narrative statement giving the overall objectives of the program and special certification desired.
  • Methods for achieving these objectives, i.e., courses listed in the degree plan, experiences, thesis and tentative research problems.
  • The proposed method and anticipated date of the final evaluation.
